Zachary Jean Chartkoff is a poet currently living and writing in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He received his MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Nevada Las Vegas.
Over the years he has fueled his addiction for words with a wide range of pursuits and adventures including archaeological digs, being the first volunteer lighthouse tour guide at the Au Sable Light on the shores of Lake Superior (summer of 1988), a TEFL Peace Corps Volunteer in Armenia (1995-97), and sharing his love of writing with others. He currently works with Alzheimer's patients in an area nursing home.

Zachary has had his poems published in both print, on-line journals and anthologies, some of which include: "Red Rock Review," "The Hawaii Review," "The Bathyspheric Review," "The Madison Review," "Red Cedar Review," "A Taste of Latex," "Zuam," "Changing Men," "The Church-Wellesley Review," "Colere," as well as the British Wellcome Trust Centre for the History of Medicine's "Medicine in Literature CD-ROM."
From the Department of Shameless Plugs:
You might ask yourself, I saw his movie, I bought his CDs, I even learned that silly dance of his (this, of course, is all stated in future tense, once I star in the new millennium's version of Saturday Night Fever) but where can I buy his books? Since I have yet to actually have a heavy, dust-sotted book published for you to thumb through and donate to the Library 50 Cent Sale, I must hock the various anthologies still to be found on BN.com and other on-line resources.

Hart Crane and me;
Li died moon-viewing
in the dark, Hart drowned
at three and I was eaten
